Natto - the Food of the Samurai Warrior

...λόγω των συνεχόμενων τραυματισμών, ο δάσκαλος του αικίντο μου σύστησε τη βιταμίνη Κ2 και μέσα από την αναζήτηση που έκανα βρήκα τα εξής πράγματα:

Natto, a typical breakfast food, is made from steamed and fermented soy beans. It's use in Japan dates back hundreds of years to the age of Samurais who believed it increased their strength and quickened their reflexes.

Today about 7.5 billion packages of Natto are sold in Japan each year and Japanese health authorities have invested resources promoting regular use of Natto, including making it an integral part of the Japanese school breakfast programs. In the last ten years several studies have found natto, containing the active component vitamin K2, to increase bone mineral density and reduce bone fractures.

Also, several studies on Vitamin K2 specifically has been found to promote bone metabolism and reduce the incidence of fracture in osteoporosis. As compared to vitamin K1, vitamin K2 has been found to be more effective in decreasing bone turnover in vitro and in vivo,  suggesting that it may offer more bone health benefits than K1.

...goodbye angelic echoe...

the wonders of microtechnology and nature depicted in music

Do you remember watching grainy 16mm science films about cell division and seeds sprouting in time lapse? It usually meant there was a sub, or that the teacher was going through some personal stuff and didn't want to try anymore. Now I realize that I learned a lot from those screenings -- how to remove a tapeworm using a pencil, for starters. And the music for these documentaries was crucial to establishing the mitochondria's or cytoplasm's point of view. Here's a library/production record devoted to the miniature wonders of the natural world: photosynthesis, ant colonies, osmosis, etc. Lovely soft focus pastoral electronics on the KPM imprint by Sam Sklair.

White Wishes is the solo-project of Nikita Pavlov's conjuring of daydreams, cold Berlin winters and warmth of sincerity into simple pop songs. Having come from a small town near St. Petersburg in Russia, Nikita escaped to Berlin where he met Australian bass player Andrew Knox during the winter of 2010. They quickly recorded a group of songs before Andrew had to move back to Sydney, where he later joined the band "Made In Japan". These recordings ended up being the "Hold Your Hand" single that was released for free online.

In the same year, Nikita returned to Russia where he then completed his first EP titled "Today" and had the songs fine tuned with the help of a friend named Maxim Polivanov of the band Motorama.

The winter is just beginning and White Wishes is the perfect companion to bring an extra bit of light to the shortness of day.

White Wishes will release their international debut as part of Shelflife Record's "1000 Series" in Spring 2011, which will feature some new and re-worked older recordings.
